A term used for wilderness skills in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, Bushcraft is all about survival and flourishing in the natural environment. It is also the acquisition of skills as well as knowledge to do the same. The skills under this category include – tracking, shelter building, firecraft, hunting as well as the usage of tools like axes and knives. Apart from this other skills included under this term are hand-carving wood, container construction from materials found in nature, making twine and rope as well as many other skills required for survival in the outdoors.
